Pacentro, a charming medieval village in Italy's Abruzzo region, offers stunning views of the Peligna Valley. The history of the town dates back to the 8th and 9th centuries, and in the Middle Ages it played an important role in defending the strategic San Leonardo Pass. The town is home to the castle built by the Cantelmo family in the 10th century, whose three towers still stand today. Here you will also find the church of St. Magdalena, with a magnificent view of the Dolomites.
Particular interest is the fact that the Ciccone family, the Italian ancestors of the singer Madonna, come from this village.
The most beautiful time of the year is after sunset, when the village lights come on, creating a special atmosphere for those who want to walk around the local streets.

From London to Rome it takes 2 hour 35 minutes by plane, from Rome it takes a further 2 hours by bus to Sulmona and from Sulmona it takes 8 minutes by taxi to Pacentro.
