Marsaxlokk, the colourful Maltese fishing village

Malta can be visited almost all part of the year, and the weather is never really cold, in the coldest month (January) the temperature is 13-16 degrees Celsius during the day. I don't recommend travel in summer, because of the heat and because the island is most visited - and therefore most crowded - in the summer months. Even in October, you may experience crowds on some local buses and this can be even more critical in summer. Autumn and spring are ideal months for travelling.

71-78 °F (22-26 °C) in May

With this postcard bay and the many colourful fising boats in the harbour, Marsaxlokk is every photographer's dream:

However, it's worth slowing down for a few moments, forget about taking photos and simply relax on the colourful benches along the bay and watch the rhythm of life in the small bay.

While the bay is undoubtedly the most interesting attraction here, let's get start to go around the surrounding streets of the village and we can discover small curiosities, even in a single detail: colourful doors, tiny statues of patron saints in the walls, name plates, doorknob ornaments, there are so many tiny things to discover.

If you visit Malta during the beach season (from May to the end of October), you can visit St Peter's Pool, this beautiful natural pool is ideal place to spend a relaxing afternoon. The sea here is crystal clear with beautiful azure blue and offers excellent diving for sea lovers. The rocks around the pool provide perfect sunbathing spots, and the high cliffs also offer some shade from the sun rays. St Peter's Pool is rarely crowded, which is appreciated by those who prefer to avoid the crowds of tourists.
