How to ride out self-quarantine during coronavirus

Updated: Jan 22, 2022

Although, at first even the quarantine expression is scary, if we forced to be in captivity in our home for weeks or even months, yet worth to see its possible positive outcomes. Since we can’t travel, I invite you to an inner travel, which is all about you. Thus, I primary take those opportunities into account, which helps regeneration and exclusively about us, so I am not thinking about repainting the house or restoration works of the bathroom.

Recharge yourself with books

Yes, I know that everyone reads a lot on the internet, news, information, interesting things. However, you can’t recharge with news reading, it can only appease are information hunger, for a short amount of time, for a really short amount of time. For the real recharging quality time is needed, which we only devote to the one thing we currently doing so we allow ourselves to immerse yourself in something without worrying about everything else (maybe more useful) things we could do.

If I had to mark only one book, as the most outstanding volume of all time, which established my never-ending attraction to India and Asia, then it is the “Bengáli tűz” by G. Hajnóczy Rózsa. Hajnóczy Rózsa was the wife of Germanus Gyula orientalist scientist, who accompanied her husband to India, to where Rabindranath Tagore himself the famous Indian poet invited him to be the Head of Department of the santiniketan university which was established by him. The real value of the book comes from that it depicts such a time period from India’s history, which no longer exists, they arrived at the country during the last years of English domination, where the changes had begun under the influence of Ghandi, however, the maharajas still ruled. For the Europeans, who came from a radically different culture, India caused a huge shock, with its superstitions, complicated caste system, which defined people’s life and everydays but at the same time, the country’s history, religion, philosophy and variety were enthralling for them either. The book shows the couples everydays in an extremely readable way in this thousand-colour fascinating country.

Immerse yourself in the tiny moments

A delicious dessert, a hot steamy coffee, a good book, in the couch making yourself comfortable. Exclude the outside word for 1-2 hours, let good feelings pervade your body, that we don’t have to hurry because of anything, there aren’t scheduled meetings, pushing on the public transports or infuriating inching in the traffic jam.

Be creative in the kitchen

Finally, we have time to try such recipes, which we postponed due to the lack of time and we recourse rather to well-proven fast methods. Also be more creative in the serving, do it with distinction.

Use your terrace

If you have, any small, furnish it in an imaginative way, there is countless ways on the internet for this. Moreover truly the more cosy terraces usually smaller because the smaller the place the easier to make it homelike. Some pillow, and some plants are already enough to make a comfortable terrace.
