Do you want to earn money by moving to Spain?

Those who are ready to move to Extremadura for 2 years to work remotely can receive a support of €8-10,000 a year, Euronews reports. Extremadura, a Spanish province bordering Portugal, has one of the lowest populations in Spain. To boost the economy, the Extremadura authorities have allocated €2 million to attract 200 digital nomads to the region. In addition to the financial support, those arriving in the region can expect to find 30% cheaper prices for accommodation, food and transport than in Madrid. After two years, those who decide to stay for a further year will receive half of the original amount in the third year.

Those who want to apply are expected to work completely remotely and online, using infomatics systems exclusively. The deadline for submitting applications is likely to start in mid-September, when the programme will be published in the Official Publication of Extremadura. Applications will remain open until all the funds to support 200 digital nomads have been allocated.

Applications will be available here.

Extremadura is located in the south-west of Spain and is famous for natural beauty: rolling hills, lush forests and crystal clear rivers. The region is a lesser-known tourist destination, so if you decide to move here, you'll have the chance to explore the local culture and way of life without having to share it with the crowds. Historic cities such as Mérida and Cáceres have a rich Roman and medieval heritage.

The people are friendly and fitting in with the local community can be easy and natural.

If you love nature, the Monfragüe National Park and other protected areas offer excellent hiking opportunities. Living in this region means being part of an authentic, relaxed and rich cultural life. With time, you may even find that the local way of life becomes so much a part of you that you won't want to move after two years.
