Burano (7 km from Venice) is an island in the Venetian Lagoon, an archipelago of 0.21 km2, with different parts connected by bridges. It is best known for the brightly painted houses and old lace making. The population is about 3,000. On the island, municipal permit necessary for painting of houses, because of the uniform street view. Although the colors are eye-catching, there is a legend about a practical reason of these variegate colors: the colors have helped fishermen find their way home even in foggy weather. After the bustle of Venice, there may be fewer tourists here, giving you more opportunities for a tranquil sightseeing tour.

Marostica (82 km from Venice) is mainly known for the castle. The stunning panorama of the castle rewards those who climb the hilltop, from above we can admire the small town and the countryside surrounding the castle.

The town of Chioggia (53 km from Venice) is also known as Little Venice. One of the jewels of the city is the white marble bridge that crosses the canal called Canale Vena. We find beautiful architectural masterpieces in the city, with paintings by famous Italian painters (Tintoretto). Chioggia is home of several medieval churches, and the fish market is not to be missed.
